Hyperpigmentation

Hyperpigmentation is the overproduction of melanin ( too much pigment) and this can give the skin a dark patch layer. Usually a common side effect for post-acne skin clients. People with darker skin experience hyperpigmentation more. This can be due to intense sun exposure. Compare the healthy skin diagram to the Hyperpigmentation and you see the quantity of melanin cells.

Ingrown Hairs

An ingrown hair occurs when a hair has been removed and grows inside the skin instead of shooting out. This is mostly common in men , people with coarse, thick or curly hair , black people. The common causes are Shaving (especially shaving) tweezing and waxing.

If you look at the diagram and compare how healthy skin is compared to an ingrown , you can see the hair growing back in the skin surface (Epidermis layer).
